How to Build a Business When Your Life is Busy By Angie Taylor
Isn't it amazing how much we can fit into our busy schedules when it's something we WANT to do? But when it's something we desire we seem to feel unworthy and then we find so many excuses for why we can't do it.
Excuses like:
* I have a lot of kids * I homeschool * I'm working on my degree * I volunteer too many hours in the community * I have too many things going on at home * I don't have a supportive signif! icant other * We're moving * My income is limited
The list goes on and on and on. I am here to take those excuses away from you. I only want to hear reasons for not getting started in your own business. If you're reading this article it's because you WANT it but you aren't quite sure how to get around the obstacles in your life.
First let me tell you that there will always be obstacles the bigger question is this, "How badly do you want it?" How important are your goals and the goals of your family. Do you even have goals or are you just waking up each morning and allowing life to determine your path? Do you believe that you can change your path at any time? What strategies have you come up with for making those forever changes you want to make but haven't made yet?
It's time to make some changes and the very first place to start is to make a list of all of your excuses. Whenever someone talks to you about home businesses that are available out th! ere -- and there are many available to you -- what excuses do ! you come up with? Write them down. That's right. Get a piece of paper and write them down right now. I'll wait.......(whistling, hummming, laughing with my kids, getting a drink, a snack.....)
Okay, now you have your list. Please know that you may add to this list at anytime. You will also be removing items from the list. I want you to go through your list and determine which ones are actual reasons. I think you'll be surprised by the few that are actual reasons. A reason is something that is real such as, "I'm in the hospital with cancer and can't focus on a business right now" -- THAT'S A REASON! "I don't want to use my credit card" -- that's an excuse. So don't use your credit card. Save up the money you will need to get started. The person who introduced you to whatever business you are looking at should be willing and able to give you specific dollar amounts. If he or she isn't willing to share those numbers with you then it's not the business for you.
